About

DesignByRoeland.com

DesignByRoeland.com is a multidisciplinary design office, bringing together clients with the best the home design and construction industry has to offer. Design principal Roeland Leenes has no "signature" style as such; instead, he brings over 20 years of architectural experience to the table, serving his clients personally to bring their dreams to life. Roeland's strength is his ability to translate ideas into practical, coherent and buildable designs, encompassing a wide variety of applications and budgets.

Roeland Leenes, M. Arch.

Roeland studied architecture at Delft Technical University in the Netherlands and graduated with honors in 1985. He formed DBR in '83 with the view to design and help construct heartfelt and small-scale residential projects. After a string of such projects, Roeland joined the multi-disciplinary office of RMJM in London (UK) as a senior architect in 1988. He was the principal architect of mostly high-end and large scale projects in Europe, the Middle East, and North America.

In 1992 Roeland won the Today's Architecture Award for the design of the trendsetting Arts Faculty Building at the University of London, which was opened that same year by H.M. Queen Elisabeth II. He also received the Arts Council's Art in Architecture award in '92. Roeland immigrated to Canada in 1993, worked for FBM Architects and established DesignByRoeland.com in 1995. His purpose is to provide design services for housing and small buildings, integrating his experience in all aspects of your design and construction. Today, Roeland prides himself to offer beautiful and efficient residential design solutions, uniquely suited to meet your needs and budget.
